You only need a few garden pansies to introduce spring to your balcony or terrace.
These biennial plants bloom in the second year of culture. Sow garden pansy seeds to a hotbed or directly to the ground at the beginning of summer. Seedlings tolerate transplanting very well and may even be transferred in full bloom. Transplant them to the permanent site in autumn or early spring. Choose sunny or partially shade sites.
