Thyme is also uniquely suited to home gardeners who want to harvest big, exceptionally flavorful crops in a minimum of space. Compact enough for containers, it reaches just 8 to 12 inches high and wide, with upright, densely branched stems bearing tiny gray-green leaves suffused with fragrance and flavor.
Best of all, this Thyme is winter-hardy, evergreen in mild and warm climates and prepared to keep going year-round in most areas. It makes a fine kitchen garden choice, and as a perennial also works well in the partly shaded border.
