Agrotechnics
Watermelon is a light and heat-loving culture. In the middle lane, seeds must be soaked and germinated in the second half of April or May. When preparing seeds before sowing, soaking in a solution of wood ash gives good results. A 0.05% sodium humate solution can be used successfully. You can also improve the results when growing seeds in peat pots.
They are sown to a depth of 3-4 cm. Sprouted 25-30-day-old seedlings are planted in late May, early June, when the danger of late spring frosts has passed. Seedlings are not pinched. The place for planting is first marked and then holes are made with a hoe to a depth of 5-6 cm, 2-3 seeds are placed on the bottom, sprinkled with soil and be sure to press down for better contact of the seeds with the soil. Seedlings appear 8-9 days after sowing.
