The variety of viola is impressive: there are large-flowered, multicolored, double, and trailing forms. The plant is compact, ranging from 15 to 30 cm in height. The flowering period lasts almost the entire warm season – from April until the first autumn frosts.

Growing Violas

Charming violas

Viola is most often cultivated as a biennial plant. With the traditional sowing method in open ground in August-September, flowering begins in April of the following year and lasts until the cold season. It is also possible to grow it through seedlings by sowing in February – in this case, viola blooms within 2–3 months. To enjoy flowers in autumn, violas can be sown directly into the flower bed at the beginning of summer.

Beautiful Varieties

Modern breeding has developed a vast number of viola varieties and hybrids, differing in stem length, flower size and shades, and flowering duration. We will introduce you to the most striking and picturesque violas that will delight you with their delicate beauty and require minimal care.
