This is a late ripening variety. The vegetation from germination to technical ripeness 150-160 days. Forms large heads of cabbage, round shape, very dense, dark purple in color, weighing 2.5-3.5 kg.

Cabbage 'Ruby Ball' is a uniform, early maturing, vigorous red cabbage producing deep red, solid and compact heads for late summer and autumn cropping.

A very valuable green culture, used as an early salad culture for cooking borscht, salads, sandwiches, as well as a very valuable forage crop, young leaves have a delicate spinach flavor.

Barese can be grown for exceptionally tender baby greens, or it can be grown to maturity for an early crop of a unique type of Swiss chard. Can be harvested and sold as whole plants, much like pac choi.

Arguably the best tasting Red Chard with a mild, juicy flavour and, unlike many Red Chards, has no harsh aftertastes. With excellent tolerance to downy mildew, Chard 'Fantasy' is ideal for successional sowings through the spring and summer.
