    Red pompom-flowered aster (Callistephus chinensis) is a very attractive annual plant. Charming, vividly red inflorescences with a diameter of 4-5 cm sit atop long, erect stems.

    They resemble pompoms and adorn the garden all summer long, until the first autumn frosts. Their colour and nectar attract butterflies and bees to the garden. These plants grow approximately 50 cm tall. Because of their nice habit and beautiful inflorescences pompom-flowered asters are planted on borders, flower beds and in containers. This durable plant looks great in vases and other floral arrangements.

    Aster seeds are sown indoors to containers or seeding trays in early spring, six to eight weeks before the planned date of transplantation to the borders. Spring frosts may harm the plants, so they should be transferred to the permanent site in late spring in 30 cm spacings. Pompom-flowered aster available in our store grows well and pleases the eyes with numerous blooms, provided it is planted in the sunny part of the garden, preferably in moist and permeable soil.
