    Pink Oyster mushrooms are truly spectacular in their vibrant pink color. Our pink oyster strain is the pleurotus djamor var. roseus and is the most vibrant strain with pink gills.

    The vibrant pink varies by age and light conditions, and the more light the more vibrant pink the mushroom will take on. One way you can ensure vibrant pink colors is grow in containers you can move outdoors in indirect sunlight, or put them next to a window. The pink color will fade as the mushroom matures, as does the spores.

    This mushroom flourishes in tropical and sub-tropical zones around the world and is noted as a high temperature tolerant oyster mushroom. It’s a fast aggressive colonizer with an adaptive ability to fruit on a wide range of substrates including many unpasteurized bulk substrates like straw before contaminants set in. Although we highly recommend growing the pink oyster mushrooms on straw or a dung based compost. This strain of oyster mushrooms is common throughout SE Asia and South America, growing on a wide range of tropical fruit wood trees.

    Here in the US it also easily adapts to common substrates other oyster mushrooms do such as; straw (wheat,rye,oat,rice, and barley straw), corn, coffee grounds, banana waste, most hardwoods and hardwood by-products like sawdust and paper, compost and much more.
