Celosia (Celosia Plumosa Nana Glitters Mix) - What an exotic annual that is easily and quickly grown from Celosia seeds! Called Woolflower, Plume Plants or Feathered Amaranth, these mix, silky blooms get attention!
Plume Plants may actually live as perennials in frost free zones. The blooms are great for cutting and drying. To dry Woolflowers, cut before flowers open fully and hang upside down in a cool, dark, well-ventilated place.
Plume Plants like full sun, and they perform their best when grown in rich soil with lots of organic matter added to the soil. The soil needs to be moist but not saturated. Water Plume Plant Celosia regularly during dry periods, and they benefit from applications of general purpose fertilizer once or twice a month.
Celosia are warm weather plants and take about 90 days to flower after starting the fine flower seeds. Woolflower seeds can be directly sown into your flower garden or seeded indoors for transplanting later. If planting outdoors, sow the flower seeds after the soil has begun to warm in the spring.
We recommend starting Celosias indoors 4-6 weeks before the last frost date for your area. The flower seeds need to stay moist and require warm soil to germinate. Sow Plume Plant seeds early in the season and press them down into the soil, but do not cover them. Water thoroughly and keep the soil moist.
