Campanula Carpatica is not only ideal for edging, but it also works nicely in a container planting on your sunny patio. Bellflower grow easily from flower seed and are low-growing, rhizomatous flowers which make good general use ground covers for edging. Campanula plants do not tolerate foot traffic. Bellflower plants prefers sun to partial shade and well-drained soil.
Bellflower seeds requires light to germinate, so don't them cover with soil. Instead, lightly press the flower seeds into the soil to ensure good contact and keep moist until germination. If starting indoors, use a seed-starting mix and bottom water so mold won't form on the mix. Campanula seeds can also be sown directly outdoors in prepared beds after last frost. To encourage additional blooming, the flowers need to be deadheaded.
