  • Organic Okra Seeds «Dibrova»

    Refers to low-growing varieties with a stem height of about 65-80 cm, diameter - 1.5-1.9 cm, plant diameter - 50-60 cm. The flower of the okra variety "Dibrova" is small - 7.5 - 9.0 cm in diameter, yellow in color, the spot at the base of the wreath is crimson. The fruit at the beginning of biological ripeness is dark green, without anthocyanin manifestations, faceted, the number of edges is 7-9 pieces. Fruit length is average -9 - 11 cm, diameter - 2.6 - 3.0 cm.

    With irregular collection of the ovary, 5-8 fruits are formed on the plant. Ovary yield (commercial) - 2.5-3 t / ha, incl. early (for the first 3 harvests) - 0.64-0.78 t / ha. The average weight of the ovary with regular collection is 9 grams. The fruiting period is 28 - 34 days, the number of collections is 7-9. The okra fruits are harvested many times, approximately every 3-4 days, until frost.

    Young okra pods are eaten. Okra pods cannot be stored for long, they quickly become fibrous. In taste, okra fruit is a cross between zucchini and green beans, which makes its use in cooking quite wide. Salads and soups are prepared from okra fruits, in addition, the pods are dried, frozen and canned. Boiled or lightly fried okra, which does not require prolonged heat treatment, can be a side dish, as well as a dressing for soups. Okra goes well with tomatoes, garlic, onions, ginger, paprika and other spices. Ripe seeds are used to prepare a drink that tastes like coffee.

    Due to the high content of mucous substances in okra fruits, okra dishes are useful for the prevention and treatment of various diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. It has been noticed that okra helps to restore the depleted strength of the body after hard physical work or a long illness.
