This is a superb cultivar, actually a hybrid between A.stipitatum and A.aflatunense. Giving vigorous plants, it produces in late spring long-lasting, six inch spheres of snowballs, each containing hundreds of pure white flowers.

These are pleasantly fragrant, attractive to bees and butterflies but repugnant to rabbits, squirrels and deer. They make a good cut flower. Easy and prolific. 3½ft (1.1m)

A large genus of bulbous plants, most of which have a distinctive smell of garlic (onions, leeks, chives, and garlic are all members). However, many are worth growing for their flowers and, unless the foliage is broken, the odour is seldom offensive. Easily raised from seed.

    Sowing Advice

Sow seeds at any time covering them with compost or grit 5mm deep, keeping the seed pot in a cool, well-lit spot outdoors. Artificial heat is not needed and can prevent germination so be very patient as many species will only germinate in the spring after chilling or freezing in the moist seed tray in the winter. Grow on individual seedlings in small pots until of sufficient size to be potted on or planted out into the open ground.
