Caragana tree-like, or Yellow acacia / Caragana arborescens
Kistopadny shrub, less often a tree with a height of 4-7 meters, a typical species of the genus Karagan. In the 18th century, it was known in Russia under the name of the pea plant.
Forms stems up to 10-15 centimeters thick. Leaves are alternate, petiolate, compound, consisting of 5-8 pairs of leaflets.
The flowers are rather large, bisexual, moth type, with a yellow corolla, in bunches of 2-5 pieces in the leaf axils. There are ten stamens in the flower, nine of them have grown together in threads into a tube, one is free. The nectar-bearing tissue is located at the bottom of the corolla. It blooms in late spring - early summer.
Pollen grains are three-furrow-pore-shaped, spherical or spherical-flattened. The length of the polar axis is 17-20.4 microns, the equatorial diameter is 17-22 microns. In outline from the pole, it is rounded triangular, from the equator - rounded or broadly elliptical. Furrows 3-4 µm wide, long, with even edges, with sharply drawn ends, not converging at the poles. The pores are oval, longitudinally elongated, as wide as or slightly larger than the width of the grooves, 6–8 µm long; are often poorly visible. The membrane of furrows and pores is fine-grained. The width of the mesocolpium is 13.6-15.3 microns, the diameter of the apocolpium is 4.6-5.7 microns. Exine 1-1.3 microns thick, fine-spotted texture. The pollen is pale orange in color.
The fruit is a linear-cylindrical pod. The fruits ripen in July - August. Propagated by seeds and vegetatively. A plant that is not very demanding on soil conditions, it tolerates drought and frost well.
