Indeterminate, productive, mid-season variety. Fruits are flat-rounded, weighing 100-200 grams, pink-red color with yellow stripes. The unusual color of the fruit during ripening changes, gradually moving from light green to orange-red.

This excellent deciduous shade tree is well suited to relatively large areas such as parks and playgrounds and is often used in street and boulevard plantings and the fall color can be quite spectacular.

A large shrub, originally native to montane forests in the Andes of South America, but now widely cultivated for its delicious fruits, which, under a thin, green peel, has very sweet, soft, white, custard-like flesh that can be scooped out with a spoon.
