They bloom from early spring until summer and again in autumn. These low growing, 15 - 25 cm tall plants surprise with extremely large blooms that may measure up to 10 cm in diameter. You will create wonderful arrangements on borders, lower edgings or flowery carpets in your garden with garden pansies. They will look great in company of bulb flowers blooming in spring. You only need a few garden pansies to introduce spring to your balcony or terrace.
These biennial plants bloom in the second year of culture. Sow garden pansy seeds to a hotbed or directly to the ground at the beginning of summer. Seedlings tolerate transplanting very well and may even be transferred in full bloom. Transplant them to the permanent site in autumn or early spring. Choose sunny or partially shade sites. Swiss garden pansies are sturdy and undemanding plants that will thrive in every standard garden soil.
