Common snapdragon should be grown in every garden. Like many other decorative plants it originally comes from warmer regions, in this case the Mediterranean.

Very popular in our grandmothers' gardens, it has lost on popularity lately, although it has not on beauty and could compete with many new varieties. The species has been divided into three classes: dwarf, medium tall and tall. Low growing common snapdragon in a colourful variety mix is our offer for your green corner. This is an attractive annual plant. Common snapdragon seeds offered in our store consist of high quality selection of those beautiful flowers.

Cultivated plants will have an erect, multi-stalk, broad habit. The characteristic look of the snapdragon blooms does not allow to mistake it with any other plant. Connected, bilabiate petals with a deep calyx form large flowers that tower over the stalks in large inflorescences. Squeezed flower open just like they would be able to snap a mythical creature - hence the name.

Snapdragons strike with clear colours and unusual flower form and can add on to any arrangement of even smaller borders. Color palette of the varieties included in our mix contains almost all colours apart from blue and purple. The blooms may be one colour, bicolour or even tricolour. The remain on the plants from June until September. Dark green, elongated leaves create a great background for the tall inflorescences.

Low growing snapdragon is indespensible on lower carpet lawn, as main attraction of a seasonal border or great addition to perennials. We also would not regret planting it on edgings. It is made to accompany us on balconies and terraces, in boxes, bowls or other kinds of containers.

Like the taller snapdragon varieties it also works well as cut flower. This low growing (35 - 40 cm tall) plant is multifunctional, attractive garden plant. We encourage you to purchase seed selection of the low growing common snapdragon, so this plant would not be missed from your garden.

Seedlings are grown end of March / beginning of April and transplanted to the permanent site after the "Ice Saints". In order for the plants to bloom abundantly we recommend to plant them on a sunny site, although partial shade should do them no harm. Snapdragons require humous, loosened, moist, yet not waterlogging soil. This plant does not require any extra care. When topped it will spread nicely, while removing withered blooms will extend the blooming season.
