Sow the Mission Bell Poppy seeds in the early spring for a performance that goes all summer. This seed mix has semi-double, bi-colored blooms in colors of orange, red, white and gold, and attractive, finely cut gray-green foliage. These simple flowers are native to western North America and bring endless enjoyment. It is common for Mission Bells Poppy mix to self-sow their own flower seeds so that the display will come year after year.
How to Grow
Must be sown directly as they will not tolerate being transplanted. Sow after danger of frost has passed. Sow 1mm deep into prepared soil that has been raked to a fine tilth. Sow in short drills with rows 30cm apart. Germination takes 14-21 days at 20°C. Thin seedlings to 15cm spacing by early summer. Requires full sun, flowers will not open in the shade. Water well if dry. Should flower in the first year. Cut and come again variety. Cut flowers regularly to encourage growth and to prolong flowering window. Deadhead if you do not want it to self-seed.
