White tall peony aster (Callistephus chinensis) is an exceptional aster variety with huge, full flowers that immediately bring peonies to your mind.
This sturdy annual plant reaches 50-80 cm in height and starts to bloom in the middle of the summer. Its exuberant flower heads are thickly packed with long, tongue-shaped flowerets (petals) that bend slightlty inwards, forming beautiful balls. Inflorescences form on tops of erected, branched stems that are densely covered with leaves.
This enchanting plant can be grown from seedlings, sown in spring indoors or on cool hotbed, or directly into the nursery. Seedlings that have developed at least several pairs of leaves should be replanted to flower beds in larger groups, combined with other colour varieties, needle-petal and "Princess" asters. In rural-style garden this presented variety can be combined with coneflowers, sunflowers, zinnias, cosmoses and calendulas.
