Like other marigolds though, Marigold ‘Aurora Red’ is most commonly grown in containers, planters, flower beds and borders. This is an excellent variety for a balcony garden, where its one-of-a-kind flowers have a great decorative value.
Growing: sow the seeds under cover from March to April or in a seedbed in May. The seeds germinate in 8 to 12 days at 18-20oC. Plant out into a permanent position in 20x30cm spacings at the end of May; plant out with a chunk of soil. The plants prefer sunny or semi-shaded positions and thrive in any type of garden soil. 5 to 8 grams of seeds produce around one thousand plants.
