Watermelon «Janosik»
This is a mid-early variety. The vegetation period from seedlings to technical ripeness is 75-90 days. Fruits are rounded and oval-rounded, green in color with light green stripes, weighing 3.5-5kg. The pulp is yellow in color, crisp, sweet, juicy and aromatic, with a small content of seeds.
The variety is resistant to bad weather conditions and diseases. It is grown in open ground and in film shelters.
Agricultural technology
Cultivation is carried out both in open ground and in greenhouses, on light air and water-permeable soils. Sowing approximately in May, when the soil warms up to a depth of 8-10 cm to 15-16 ° C. Landing scheme 140x100. In greenhouses 70x70, using trellises, (the fruits can be hung in nets). Before sowing, the seeds are treated in a solution of potassium permanganate, then washed with clean water.
If grown through seedlings, then in this case, seedlings are planted after the last frosts at the age of 3-4 real leaves. As they grow, plants form into one stem, removing lateral shoots and leave 2-3 ovaries on it (the rest are removed). Further care consists of moderate watering, loosening, fertilizing and powdering the lashes to protect them from turning over by the wind.
