  • Organic Tithonia, or Mexican sunflower (Tithonia rotundifolia) Seeds

Large annuals, forming lush and open bushes with a height of about 1 meter or more. At the same time, the crown of the titonia is attractive even at the base of the bush. The shoots are reddish, but they are almost invisible under the greenery. Lush foliage, vibrant, rich, always looking fresh and inviting, creates an amazingly beautiful backdrop for spectacular bloom. The leaves of the titonia are arranged alternately, on beautiful petioles, depending on the variety, three-lobed-heart-shaped, more or less large. The underside of the greenery is covered with beautiful silk pubescence.

The Mexican sunflower blooms really relentlessly. Before the arrival of strong frosts, titonia constantly releases new large baskets of inflorescences. They bloom at the same time in titonia both on the tops of the peduncles and in the axils of the leaves. True, apart from the type of structure, nothing actually unites titonia with sunflowers. Her petals are completely different, the inflorescences seem more modern and daring. The baskets reach 5-8 cm in diameter.

The reed petals are located in one row, large, but the tubular ones are small and sit very tightly. The shape of the "petal" of titonia slightly resembles a dahlia. The color of the tubular petals is only a few shades lighter than the reed petals, making the whole flower seem even brighter. The aroma of titonia can only be caught at close range, but it is very pleasant and delicate. Her peduncles are massive and strong, very tall.

The flowering of titonia begins only in July, while in the middle lane, the Mexican most often blooms only at the end of the month. But her beauty and tirelessness fully compensate for such a delay. Titonia blooms literally until the frost itself, one of the last to leave the garden scene.

The color palette of titonia is limited to yellow-orange-red gamut. The brightest, acrylic shades with pure catchy tones perfectly emphasize the fresh color of the greenery and attract attention even from afar.
