Yew berry is also called Zelenitsa or mahogany. This is a coniferous tree from the Yew family. Yew berry is quite attractive. It has an unusual pyramidal crown. The main feature of the plant is its lifespan. Some scientists claim that this yew is able to live 4000 years!

It tolerates strong pruning and shearing, transplanting in adulthood. Young yews become very fragile in winter and break easily from snow, so for the winter they are tied with a rope in one bundle to prevent snow from accumulating on individual branches.

The color of the needles is dark green, it grows on the shoots in a spiral and in pairs on the side branches. Yew berry bears fruit - these are small red berries, inside them are seeds.

The best place for this coniferous plant is partial shade and even shade. In the shade, the tree grows much better than in the sun.
