Mid-season (115-120 days) exotic variety, bred by Ukrainian breeders. The fruits are flat-round, beautiful, smooth, dense, brown-burgundy at maturity, without green shoulders.
Calvados has a thick, brown-red color in appearance, which differs slightly from the usual color of tomatoes. Its flesh looks darker and richer.
The tomatoes are very juicy, fleshy, weighing 200-300 grams, good sweet taste with a spicy aroma.
It would be more correct to consider Ukrainian “Calvados” as an intermediate variety between typical red, black and purple tomatoes, trying to combine all the best from each group.
The fruits are collected in clusters of 2-4 pieces.
Plants are about 1.5 m high; it is better to form the bush into 2 stems.
