The Japanese maple looks very impressive when it blooms in May. Its flowers are red or yellow-green in color, large, up to 15 mm in diameter. But the tree is most impressive in the fall, when the leaves take on a charming color. In direct sunlight, the leaves turn red and purple, shaded by bright orange and red. They look stunning!
Maple is demanding of soil and moisture, but does not tolerate excess moisture, suffers from dry air, and is heat-loving. Most sources indicate zones 5-9. In the conditions of the Moscow region, the plant freezes slightly in winter, which is why it needs shelter, but it is the most frost-resistant among other varieties.
Japanese maple can be used as a very decorative tree. In terms of brightness and grace of leaves in spring and autumn, it can successfully compete with the most sophisticated perennials.
