Deciduous shrub up to 1.5 meters high with thin shoots. The leaves are opposite, ovate or oval, entire, up to 2-5 cm long. The upper side is green, bare, the lower side is glaucous and slightly pubescent. The flowers are small (0.6 cm in diameter), with a bell-shaped, 4-5-lobed pink corolla, collected in dense racemose inflorescences in the leaf axils. Blooms from May to September.
The fruits are spherical, up to 1 cm in diameter, white, with two seeds inside, inedible. They ripen in September and do not fall off for a long time. It is used as an ornamental plant, mainly in hedges, but also looks good in single plantings. It blooms long and profusely; you can see both flowers and fruits on the plant at the same time.
Winter hardiness is high, unpretentious, tolerates haircuts well. Snowberry is propagated by layering, cuttings, dividing the bush and seeds.
