A gorgeous annual with drooping crimson inflorescences that create the illusion of a fairy-tale waterfall or the tail of a firebird. Small crimson flowers are collected in long inflorescences up to 80 cm. For the ancient Greeks, the flower served as an emblem of immortality due to its fresh appearance, which it retains for a long time in the flowerbed and in bouquets.
Amaranth has beneficial properties. Its seeds and oil are widely used in folk medicine as a diuretic, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory agent. The plant contains many biologically active substances, proteins, vitamins, and natural dyes.
Main characteristics and description:- stems: erect, 100-150 cm in height;
- flowers: small, crimson, collected in “tailed” drooping inflorescences;
- leaves: large, ovate, purple-green or purple;
- blooms from June to October, abundantly and continuously.
