Organic Mock Orange (Pittosporum Tobira)
Mock Orange looks like a giant bridal bouquet when it bursts into bloom in spring and summer. Hundreds of pure white flowers fill the yard with the sweet scent of orange blossoms.
It is covered in dark green leaves. Grows in sun or shade. Thrives almost anywhere. The Mock Orange makes an ideal tall screen or specimen planting. Grows to 8 feet. We send you ideal transplanting size: 1 foot to 3 foot.
How to Grow
This is a very versatile plant and thrives equally well in either shade or sun. Propagation, or how to grow Pittosporum, is through semi-hardwood cuttings in summer. Place the cutting in a half and half mixture of peat and perlite. Keep the pot lightly moist and soon you will have another Pittosporum baby to enjoy. The plant does produce a small fruit with a bright red seed, but the seeds are not easily sprouted and are often not viable.
