    Mexican marigold (Tagetes erecta), here offered as a scentless variety mix, is an annual plant, whose greatest asset are large, round inflorescences set on firm stems.

    This species belongs to the tallest-growing Tagetes-representatives, reaching 50 - 100 cm in height. Its blooms that impress with their size take on the whole sunny colour palette, including orange, yellow, rusty-red and mahogany. Plants grown from this variety are devoid of the characteristic marigold scent that might be unpleasant to many people.

    This feature makes these plants perfect for cultivation for cut flowers. Mexican marigold in a scentless variety mix is also fitted for elevated borders and as background for lower growing plants. Since the smell will not bother you, you may grow it right behind the windows and in vicinity of your relaxation spots.

    Sowing seeds at home is the quickest marigold cultivation method. You should conduct it in spring, four to six weeks before the planned transplantation to the garden. Seeds may also be sown directly to the ground after the danger of frost has passed. Leave 40 - 50 cm spacings between the plants. You will enjoy impressive marigold blooms for a long time, if you provide the plants with a place on a sunny border.
