Beardtongue is a very attractive annual plant that grows 50 to 60 centimetres in height. This mix features various plants in this outstanding family with multi-coloured flowers, including white, creamy, red and pink.
The glamorous bell-shaped flowers make spike-shaped loose inflorescences; they grow densely packed. Beardtongue is most suitable for planters, flower beds and for a cut flower. The plants are in flower from July to late autumn.
Growing: sow the seeds in planter boxes in early May. Do not cover the seeds with soil; lightly press them into the soil using a small board. The seeds germinate in 3 weeks at 20-25°C. Plant out into a permanent position in 25x25cm spacings in late May. The plants grow best in slightly moist fertile soils in sunny or semi-shaded positions.
