Organic Okra Seeds «Panpipe»
Medium-sized variety - stem height 115-120 cm, diameter - 2-2.5 cm, plant diameter 50-60 cm. Small flower - 6.7-7.8 cm in diameter, yellow color, spot at the base of the wreath is crimson. The fruit in biological ripeness (at the beginning of cracking on the edges) is green in color, with a weak manifestation of angocyanin, faceted, the number of edges is 5-6 pieces. The length of the fruit is average - 18-21 cm, diameter - 2.0-2.2 cm.
Mid-season, the number of days from mass shoots to the first collection of ovaries is 58-68 days, until the seeds ripen - 118-125 days. Marketable yield of ovaries - 25 kg / ha. The fruiting period is 28-34 days, the number of collections is 7-9.
Okra seeds germinate well at 20-22 ° C. In the open field, the feeding area is 60x30 cm, the seeding depth is 3 - 5 cm, depending on the soil. Okra grows better on light fertile soils, cucumber may be a precursor. At the same time, it is not bad to add humus in a mixture with mineral fertilizers. Plants from the moment of seed germination, like eggplants, must be provided with phosphorus fertilizers.
Okra shoots appear in 10-15 days, depending on weather conditions. For the growth and fruiting of plants, a temperature of at least 20 ° is required; in dry weather, do not forget to water, especially during the harvesting period. Under film shelters, moisture in the soil remains longer, but the air humidity is also higher there. Therefore, it is necessary to resort to airing, lifting the film from the leeward side. The temperature of the air under the film must not be allowed to rise above 30 °.
Okra is fed with a combined mineral fertilizer, such as nitrophosphate fertilizer. Give no more than 2 tablespoons per bucket of water; during the fruiting period, they are fed with potassium nitrate (in the same dose).
Already two months after germination, early ripening okra varieties bloom, and after another five days they begin to collect fruits. The collection is repeated in the south every other day, in the middle lane - every 3-5 days. Remember, fruits that are not removed on time become inedible. Fruiting lasts until the onset of frost. By the way, an adult plant can withstand frosts down to minus 2 °, but with the onset of cold weather, the growth of fruits slows down sharply. When harvesting, caution is necessary, since the plants are covered with dense, fine pubescence and, in contact with them, itching may appear on the skin.
