    Chinese asters are annual plants that have their moment of glory at the end of summer and at the beginning of fall. These plants are divided into some groups according to their size and flower shape.


    Dwarf asters, whose seeds are available in our store, form one of those groups. We particularly recommend the "Pinocchio" variety. Dwarf chinese asters "Pinocchio" develop a compact habit and bloom abundantly. The typical for asters double flowers strike with a plethora of colours.

    Numerous, tiny (2-4 cm in diameter) flower heads cover the plants from August until October, and even longer in good weather. Aster inflorescences can be white, ivory, yellow, pink and purple. Cultivation on a flower bed might lead to crossing between plants and emerging of a an almost infinite number of new bloom colour shades.

    Dwarf aster groupings fit into edgings, low borders and carpet beddings. They will also make a great impression as container-grown plants. Asters planted in boxes will replace their summer predecessors with dignity and delight us until the first waves of cold.

    They will look adorable in elegant pots on a terrace and can be used as follow up for the summer species on the front of a border after the spring and summer exchange or as an addition to a flower bed of perennials. Bowls or pots with asters will also look amazing on a lawn, adding character to the garden space. They are great for bouquets. Fresh cut asters retain great looks for up to two weeks.

The Cuore di Bue (oxheart) tomato is an old Italian variety of beefsteak tomato which is rarely offered in Germany. The up to 500 g, strongly ribbed, fleshy, light red fruits have a very thin skin, and are therefore not easily storable.
