Jalapeño doesn’t need any description as they are most well known & widely used chillies all over the world! This plant produces loads of sweet flavoured & spicy chillies all the year round (except winter).
With a mild 5,000 Scoville Heat Units and their beautiful aroma they can be fit to any kind of cooking. They are good to eat fresh, canning, pickling, and roasting and also very well known for making hot chilli Sauce.This chilli is very juicy and thick skinned turning from dark green to beautiful glossy red when ripe.
They are very easy to grow & easy to maintain. This plant will continuously produce chilli for 5/6 months each year. Seeds need min 20°C to germinate. With a proper care in frosty time this will survive up to 3 years. Soak the seeds in water for a few hours before planting and sow them 5mm deep in a sunny, well-drained position.
Keep moist but not wet. If it’s too hot outside then sow indoor and transfer them outside when mature enough to survive. Germinates between 3-5 weeks, depending on the weather condition. If this plant survives frost then it will last 2/3 years & will produce chillies continuously.
