    Green manure Sorghum sudanese is a herbaceous plant of the cereal family. Possible names: Sudanese, Sudanese grass. The plant can form from 3 to 30 erect stems up to 3 meters high. The root system of Sudanese is fibrous and long. The roots can reach a depth of up to 2.5 m. The culture is heat-loving and does not tolerate frost. You can buy Sorghum seeds both for collecting green fertilizers and for growing animal feed. The growth rate is 7-8 cm per day.

    Benefits:
    • excellent drought resistance;
    • increases soil drainage;
    • displaces weeds due to rapid growth;
    • incorporation of green manure enriches the soil with nitrogen and humus;
    • withstands high temperatures up to +45°C;
    • reduces soil salinity.

    Growing:

    Sorghum seeds are sown quite late. To sow Sudanese, it is necessary that the soil warms up by 10-12°C to a depth of 10 cm. The timing of emergence of seedlings also depends on the temperature. Sudanese green manure seeds are sown in a row manner.

    Young first shoots grow slowly. The first mowing of the green mass is carried out at the moment when the panicle ejection phase begins (before flowering). Sorghum mowing is done to a height of 7-8 cm, not lower.

    One of the features of Sorghum is the ability to hibernate at excessively high or critically low temperatures. After optimal conditions are restored, growth continues.
