This is an undersized annual, 15-20 cm high. Flowers 2-3 cm in diameter, black in color with a white border along the edge of the petals. Grown by sowing seeds in open ground, sometimes through seedlings.
The plant is shade-tolerant, prefers loose calcareous soils. In dry weather, watering is necessary. Blooms from June to autumn. It is used for framing flower beds and borders, as well as for decorating balcony boxes.
