This healthy and versatile food (yes, the latin name means edible lens!!) is a great staple for anyone interested in healthy, frugal living and is very easy to grow at home. Probably the fastest cooking of all the legume family.

Late, high-yielding coarse-grained variety, excellent taste and color, uniform ripening, high resistance to a complex of diseases (fusarium wilting, powdery mildew), high heat resistance and drought resistance.

Beans are native to Mexico, and have long been a part of the cuisines of Central and South America. Great for soups, burritos and other dishes, black beans have a meaty texture and are rich in antioxidants.

A medium early variety of foreign selection, a plant about 45 cm high, beans 14-15 cm long, golden in color, abundant fruiting, excellent taste, one of the best varieties for freezing.

85-95 days. Flesh is a gorgeous strawberry pink, ripening to within a half-inch of the rind, and usually has very few seeds. Fine grained, distinctively flavored and super sweet. It is classed among the best-tasting by those who have tried it.

The rare "Mix Campion", almost lost to cultivation, is a fantastic dwarf cottage garden plant, with a unique colour among this group of flowers, having masses of wide-open, sizeable, two-tone mid mixed flowers smothering it.
