Organic Hoary Alyssum Seeds / Berteroa incana

Thistles belong to the Thistle Subfamily of the Aster Family, along with artichokes. Compare an artichoke and a thistle, and notice that they are very similar, except in size. Like other members of the Aster Family, these are composite flowers.

Greater celandine has an erect habit, and may reach 30 to 120 cm high. The leaves are lobed and crenate, 30 cm long. The sap is yellow to orange. The flowers consist of four yellow petals, each about 1 cm long, with two sepals.

The herb garden has never had a more lovely perennial that can be grown from herb seeds! Skullcap is an attractive ornamental herb with erect stems of bluish-purple blooms that arrive in the latter part of spring.

This is one of the recognized short-fruited varieties of the Shantane type; the fruit is short, conical, with a wide head, very strong, dark green tops, and the variety is resistant to alternaria.
