Large-flowered Mexican marigold "Mona" (Tagetes erecta) belongs to low growing varieties of this marigold species, as it grows 35 - 50 cm tall. It develops broadly branched, erect shoots atop of which large inflorescences appear.

They are perfect for edgings and will also impress planted along fences and paths. You may also use them as cut flower.
Start the culture early in spring by sowing Mexican marigold seeds to pots placed indoors. You may also sow mid-spring directly to the soil. Seedlings transplanted to the ground in the middle of spring will quickly develop and bloom already at the end of that season. Mexican marigolds are very resistant and undemanding plants.
