Ageratum houstonianum «Mix»
A compact annual plant 10-20 cm high, with blue, pink and white inflorescences. It blooms from late June until frost. To continue blooming, faded inflorescences are removed. Any garden soil, sunny place or partial shade is suitable.
It is used to decorate the foreground of flower beds, effectively filling free spaces in group plantings on flower beds.
It can be pronounced as Ageratum houstonianum, or Ageratum mexicana, or Long-flowering.
How to Grow
Start the Ageratum flower seeds indoors 6 - 8 weeks before the end of frost season. Transplant outdoors after danger of frost. For areas with a long growing season, Ageratum seeds can be started directly outdoors in a prepared seedbed after all danger of frost has passed. Blooms are extraordinarily long-lived, dead heading is necessary, yet infrequent.
