Sowing in open ground and growing from seeds
Salvia can be sown directly into a flower bed, starting in April. However, in this case, flowering will occur a month later. Therefore, the seedling method is most often used. For seedlings, sage seeds are sown in February-March, in boxes with a light nutrient substrate. The embedment depth is about 2 mm. The mini-greenhouse is periodically ventilated and sprayed.
Plants peak with the appearance of 3 leaves at a distance of 4 cm. Immediately pinch the top for branching. After 3 weeks, plant in cups about 10 cm in diameter. From May, the seedlings are ready for planting on the site. It is planted at a distance of 20 cm. For salvia, standard agricultural technology is recommended. This means watering once every 5-7 days, loosening, and possibly fertilizing with mineral fertilizers.
