«Spatula» - Organic Bean Seeds

This reliable, popular variety is the classic fresh market pea. Knight’s broad, 3-1/2 to 4" long pods stand up well to handling and yield 6 to 8 tender peas each. Bred at the NYAES in Geneva, NY by Dr. G. Marx, this compact 20 to 24.

Late, high-yielding coarse-grained variety, excellent taste and color, uniform ripening, high resistance to a complex of diseases (fusarium wilting, powdery mildew), high heat resistance and drought resistance.

It’s a very short plant with most of ours only growing a foot or so, making it perfect for growing in pots. Big crops of delicious tender “green beans” that are great as a stir fry, soup, stew, even a green salad vegie.

A tasty vegetable and attractive ornamental plant, the pods develop from highly decorative, pink flowers, the peas can be used raw, canned or frozen, suitable for all kinds of salads and purees.

Chinese mountain yam is one of the few tubers grown commercially in China and used extensively as a source of starch. Until recently this species was used only as an ornamental in the U.S, for the sweet smelling cinnamon like blossoms.
