The Asparagus Pea is an annual plant with partially reclining shoots; it grows 20 to 30 centimetres in length. In the summer, the shoots produce gorgeous scarlet flowers that are navicular in shape.

An early variety, the grains do not change their pleasant, sweetish taste and delicate structure when overripe, accumulate a significant amount of vitamin C and protein, the variety is intended for sale, fresh consumption, as well as canning and freezing.
