A perennial plant commonly grown as an annual. It has trailing, cascading stems reaching 30–35 cm in length. The flowers are small, about 1 cm in diameter, and during flowering they densely cover the stems, creating a spectacular multicolored cascade. It is a long- and profusely blooming plant suitable for flower beds, borders, edging, balconies, containers, and window boxes.
Sowing:
Sow for seedlings from mid-February to April in trays or seed boxes under glass. Do not cover the seeds with soil, or cover only very lightly. Seeds germinate in 7–14 days at 18–20°C.
Pricking out (transplanting seedlings):
From March to May.
Planting out:
Seedlings are planted in open ground in late May to June.
Care:
Prefers a sunny location and loose loamy or sandy-loam soils. Requires abundant watering during hot weather.
