A large woody deciduous liana of the Bignoniaceae family, distinguished by its decorative pinnate leaves and bright beautiful flowering. This fast-growing vine forms aerial sucker roots that cling to a support and can climb to a height of 15 meters. This heat-loving species is quite frost-resistant and is even able to withstand short-term frosts down to minus 20 degrees.

This plant is used for vertical gardening of fences and facades of houses, and is also grown in a low stem form in the form of a small tree. Like most vines, Campsis is tolerant of pruning, so if desired, this plant can be given a wide variety of shapes.

A beautiful, complex leaf of Campsis consists of 9-13 leaflets. However, the main decorative effect of this vine is given by large tubular-funnel-shaped flowers, collected in inflorescences at the ends of the shoots. The first flowers begin to bloom in mid-June; Campsis blooms until October.

Honey flowers of Campsis are eagerly visited by bees. Campsis grows very well and does not require special care, the vine reproduces easily.

Campsis is easily propagated by seeds, cuttings, layering. It is possible to graft Campsis on catalpa.

Campsis seeds do not require stratification. They can be stored in a dry place at room temperature in winter, and sown in seedling boxes at home in spring. It is desirable to take the soil with a neutral reaction, loose, well-retaining water.

Campsis seeds are planted to a shallow depth (about 0.5 cm). At a temperature of about +25 degrees, campsis sprouts in 3-4 weeks.

When the Campsis seedlings have 5-6 true leaves, they can be planted in a permanent place.
